Cavener News

Bryan and I previously have documented nothing. From the last nine years we have no photos, no journals, nada. But now we're turning over a new leaf and we're hoping to use this as baby books for Jill and Peter.

Jill's First Visit to Columbus

During the last weekend in September we traveled to Columbus to introduce Jill to her great parents and visit with Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Erin and the entire OH crew. This meant Jill took her first plane ride. She did great. We kept her drinking on the ascent and descent and she napped in my arms the rest of the time. Bryan offered to hold her but as usual she got all fired up and crazy with him (the fun parent) so she ended up back with me (the utility parent).

Ohio State played Iowa that weekend on the Saturday night game. We watched the game with the family at Uncle Kevin's house and put Jill down to sleep in the pack and play two and a half levels up. Still I was worried that the noise would wake her. However, Buckeye mania is in Jill's blood and she slept through the game no problem even though some of the cheers from downstairs were registering on the baby monitor!

Here are some shots of Jill at Mirror Lake at Ohio State. Jill loved visiting with Great Grandma Cavener and Mamaw and Papaw. We spent every moment we could with them. Bryan's family was sooo happy to see Jill. I think somebody was holding her the entire weekend so she acted a little like a diva when we got home. It was also this weekend that Erin helped Jill discover one of her all time favorite toys, the red plastic cup. Erin held Jill while she batted the cup all over the kitchen counter. She had so much fun! Then she very gently hit her face on the cup and cried. Erin handled it like a pro!
