Pearly Whites
Jill really has been hating having her teeth brushed lately. We give her a decoy tooth brush to hold, but she still thrashes around with her jaw clenched shut. Whenever one of us gets on a roll where we are making legitimate contact with her teeth and tongue for a couple of seconds, Jill pulls her head back, turns her face away, and places her head on our shoulders saying, "Aaaawww." She's pretending to hug us so that she can get out of having her teeth brushed! This aversion to the rigors of oral hygiene has got to be something that comes from her dad. I mean, he does OK, brushes 2 or more times a day and has really nice choppers, but when he flosses it is with that wimpy ultra fine stuff. Puh-lease!
You know, I just realized the solution to this problem. We need some candy flavored toothpaste. I know they sell it. I'll let you know how it goes over with Jill.

We totally use the decoy as well! Ian screams when we brush his teeth like we are killing him! I put him in a headlock on the floor to just get minimal brushing done. We have the toothpaste and it doesn't help much. It is in the regular toothpaste section but has no fluoride and comes in a box with kids pictures on it. We use the Orajel toddler one and is fruit flavored. Smells good to me.
Good Luck!
Sarah! You're my first comment, thanks!! I'm totally going to try the headlock. That cracks me up.
Yippee! Ronni has a blog! I know you read ours, I am so happy to read yours! I noticed your link on Sarah's page.
Oh, we did the headlock thing too, sometimes we still do... hee hee!
