The Tough Girl
Jill went to her friend Jillian Deluca's first birthday a couple of weeks ago. The place was kid heaven with a fenced in backyard and a ton of toys. Bryan was pushing Jill around on a tricycle. She was getting on and off it by herself with moderate success until she took a big fall. She fell off the seat and hit the ground at a roll. She did two high speed log rolls on the ground before propping herself up on her hands and knees. I saw her fall from across the yard and I couldn't stop laughing! She took that fall like a pro, like a stunt baby. When she got up she had dirt all over her face. She climbed right back on the trike--and then fell off again.
Another funny moment happened when Jill and 19 month old Jadyn both wanted to play with a Fred Flintstone style car that the kid can climb in and walk around with her feet. Jadyn really wanted a turn with the car and I thought that Jill wouldn't mind getting out to play with something else. Boy was I wrong! I lifted Jill out of the car and tried to direct her to another toy and she got really upset. The days of easily distracting her with some shiny random object are gone! Jill opened the car door and tried to climb in with Jadyn. Though Jadyn is around 4 months older than Jill, she is really petite and Jill is significantly bigger than her already. So Jill climbed in the car and turned sideways to try to fit on Jadyn's lap. Beneathe her, Jadyn's face wore a look of terror, "Oh no! Don't let her SIT on me!" It was hilarious!
