More New Tricks

Yesterday morning Bryan went into Jill's room to change her diaper and get the day started and he found her sitting up in the crib. Right in the middle of the crib. The ability to get into a sitting position from her tummy is a new skill for Jill and like most things she presented it as a fait accompli. We never saw her practicing it, she just did it. She did it again this morning. She was creeping along the floor and when she reached her yellow ducky she sat up to play with him. I did a double take. Did she just? Oh my goodness, she did!

Jill's attempts at crawling have evolved from the inchworm move to a sort of bunny hop. She gets up on her knees and lunges forward quickly scooting both knees beneath her so that she is up on her knees the whole time. She still hasn't figured out how to take crawling steps, but it will be soon!
