Ewww!
Our friend Keith is car shopping and Bryan has been living vicariously through him during the process. Some might remember that when Bryan and I were shopping for the 4 Runner a couple of years ago he was so into the research that I was basically a Consumer Reports and Motor Trend widow. Luckily Bryan isn't as committed to the process now, but he is enjoying going on some of the test drives. Keith is looking at some really nice cars!
Keith emailed Bryan today to see if he wanted to come along on the latest test drive. Bryan's response: Negative - both eyes are swollen shut with pink eye, which complements my double ear infection and strep throat. The Inifinity guy wouldn't let me within 10 feet of that car ....
Is it strange that nothing is funnier to me than Bryan's current predicament? I can't stop laughing except when looking at him makes me cringe! Poor guy.
Bryan has been really sick for days. Coughing, hacking, laryngitis, complaining that his ears were clogged. I couldn't get him to take a day off work to go to the doctor and rest until he woke up with the swollen eyes today. The doctor gave him 4 prescriptions to clean it all up. I really really pray that Jill doesn't get conjunctivitis. It would be a nightmare trying to get drops into her eyes.
Jill is doing great. We had her first birthday party on Easter and her Grammie and Grandpa came in from Mississippi to celebrate with us. She scored many toys and outfits and looked beautiful in her Easter dress. As for the cake, we sat watching her with cameras and recorders poised for about 15 minutes while she just poked at it. Finally when we gave up she took a GIGANTIC piece of cake and put it in her mouth. I was terrified. She chewed it like a champ though.
About two weeks ago I had a really long work week that kept me away from home when Jill was awake. I missed her SO MUCH. I would tip toe into her room at night and pet her head. Jill and I have been recovering from that for the last two weeks. She has been a little clingy, crying when I try to leave her with the ladies at Cuddle Corner, and twice she has even pushed her Nana away to try and stay in my arms. That's really unthinkable. Usually she would crawl right over me to get to Nana!
Now at 13 months, Jill is cruising all over the place, opening cabinets, and causing trouble. She says two things, "Thank you" and "Uh oh." My mom and I noticed the "Thank you" on Monday. When Mom finished feeding her she said, "Ank goo!" She has been saying it all week. The uh oh just started today and it is said with raised eyebrows and a very serious expression even if nothing troublesome is going on. It's hilarious. And finally, Jill's dancing has evolved from a jerky shoulder shrug to an arm swinging twist. She hasn't learned yet the slippery shoe shuffle that has made her father so (in)famous at weddings!
