Officially Two

Jill has been acting like a two year old for months, but now it's official.
We had a little pizza party tonight with Nana, Becky, Yaka, and the girls to celebrate Jill and Jacqui's (she'll be 8 on 4/8) birthdays together. Jill was so happy to see her cousins. She talks about them all the time and when we give her breakfast in the morning she asks, "Baby show? Jacqui? Anna?" so that we'll play a slideshow of pictures of her with her cousins on the computer. So when the girls walked in tonight Jill treated them like rock stars and then they all partied like rock stars together.
Jill got a Dora tricycle from us, a "Cars" boom box from Nana, Auntie Becky and Uncle Yaka, and a crafts table from Grammie and Pa. All in all a pretty good take.

Notes about Jill at the ripe old age of two... She's not using the potty right now, but she does a great job of encouraging her dad and I to use it. Whenever one of us comes out of the bathroom she says, "Great job potty!" with a huge smile. It really is pretty affirming. I feel good about myself.
Every morning when Jill wakes up at 6:33 she yells, "Daddy! Daddy!" until he comes to get her. Then she flops back down on her mattress and plays "night nights" pretending to sleep until Bryan says, "I got up for this?" and then takes her downstairs for breakfast. I've been playing the pregnancy card in the mornings. Jill doesn't bother to call me because she knows I'm not coming. That's pretty bad.
Jill gets a little wild at around 6:00 every night and wants to rough house. She tackles her tiger, her teddy, and her father and laughs like a mad woman. She reaches out to tickle us saying, "Dee-del-dee-dee, Daddy! Dee-del-dee-dee, Mommy!"

And finally Jill is really big on possessives right now. She's always pointing things out saying, "Mommy's water," "Mommy's pants," "Jill's milky," etc. It actually helps her be more patient about respecting our food and stuff.
I can't believe my little girl is two and that it was two years ago that I ate Thai food with Keith and Jean and then went into labor. I'm so excited to have Peter on the way and I think he must hear all the singing and raucous play around here and think that this is going to be a pretty fun place to hang out. Either that or he's already terrified of his sister and cousins! That would be wise.

Nice job on the photos! congrats on surviving the first 2 years as great parents.
Happy Birthday Jill! It goes too fast doesn't it!?
Thanks, ladies! I really can't believe how fast it has gone. I recently packed up all of Jill's baby clothes to give to a friend and I felt like I was sending her to college. So sad.
We finally realized that we had to have a Google account to reply. Jill, It looks like you had a wonderful birthday. Wish we could have been there. We hope you enjoyed. To all of you: Have a terrific time on your vacation!
Love, Grammie & Pa aka Patty and Rich
