You hear me?
After enduring quite a few time-outs this weekend we overheard Jill talking to herself in her carseat, "Hey! No throw food. You hear me? No throw food. Hey!" and so on. Thankfully the "Hey! Do you hear me?" part indicates that Jill was doing an impression of Bryan.

It was Bryan's birthday this weekend and in honor of the occasion I made two completely inedible lemon meringue pies. They were terrible from top to bottom--from the gluten free crust, to the too-tangy filling, to the meringue that never achieved "stiff peaks" and then got scorched to oblivion. Bryan said the bite he had tasted tangy like a Reuben. I don't know about that, but I may have put him off of his favorite dessert for life. Here is a picture of one of the pies in the trash. But they're both in there, believe me.

Jill's song of the week is, "One, two, buckle my shoe! Three, four, shut the door..." She sings the whole thing and tries to flash the right number of fingers along the way. We sang it together in the grocery store this weekend and a few people smiled over at Jill in appreciation. They might have thought it was less cute had they known we were singing for our lives since we had foolishly brought Jill shopping just 30 minutes before her bedtime.
One final event from our weekend that was not good... Not being able to account for a sippy cup has very different consequences than not being able to account for the barrettes, socks, or puzzle pieces that constantly vanish into thin air. We just found Jill's green sippy cup, that I vaguely knew had gone missing, in the toy box--full of milk. We conducted the search after being overcome by the smell of Parmesan cheese in the living room. So gross.
Here is Jill working on the computer. She may want to handle her own press after reading this post! Oh, and I almost forgot, at Jill's two-year-old check up she was measured at 35.75" (92%) and 26 lbs 7oz (42%). My tall girl is now wearing 3T clothes!
