10 Days Max
My blood pressure was a little high this week (~120/90) so my doctor recommended that we keep a close eye on it (two visits a week!) and plan to induce me at 39 weeks. My doctor scheduled the induction bright and early on July 28th, so I have 10 days left to be pregnant.
It's exciting now to have an end date, but until today (contrary to my recent desperation) I had peacefully resigned myself to the possibility that it might be 2 or 3 more weeks before Peter is born. With most milestones like weddings, graduations, or big deadlines there is a date that can be circled on the calendar. But waiting to go into labor is so different. From 37 weeks on it could be anytime--though Peter doesn't seem to be in a hurry to go anywhere! I wonder if he'll be different from his sister in other ways, too.
So it's time to really get ready. We installed the infant car seat base today and have a load of blue onesies in the washing machine right now.
Jill seems to be warming up to the idea of her brother, well at least she's no longer protesting about the baby in her big sister story. My Aunt Donna brought some gifts for Peter this week and with them a gift for Jill--her first baby doll complete with bib, bottle, baby lotion, diaper bag, and the works. Jill is obsessed with this doll! When she goes to bed at night she says, "Oh no! My baby, her bottle!" and I have to assure her that she can go to sleep, I will give the baby her bottle before bed. Her baby is also the first thing on her mind in the morning. In fact her naps have been shorter too because she wakes up all fired up to play with this doll! I'm not sure if any of this will translate into gentleness or affection for her real life baby brother, but we can hope!

Yeah! We had a planned induction with Addison. It makes it SO much easier when there is a big sister at home. Jill with do great! There is something about the "little mother" in them that is so sweet. I remember how I worried a little that Payton would try to pick up Addison and try to put her in her little doll stroller. Never happened though:) Good luck getting ready!
The pictures are so cute. I'm glad it's getting close to time for little Peter to come. We can't wait to see him. Take care.
