Cavener News

Bryan and I previously have documented nothing. From the last nine years we have no photos, no journals, nada. But now we're turning over a new leaf and we're hoping to use this as baby books for Jill and Peter.

This Weekend

I had a few great moments with Jill this weekend that I don't want to forget.  The first was Saturday morning.  She sat on the potty while I sat on the edge of the tub and chatted with her.  She said, "Mommy, you're my very best friend."

Later that afternoon she freaked out when we turned off her Old McDonald CD in the car.  I said, "Jill, it's my turn now to listen to the radio."  Jill said, "No!  It's not your turn, it's my turn!"  Not making much sense I replied, "Jill, when you get a job you can buy a car and listen to whatever you want in it."  Jill whined, "I can't!  I can't get a job!"  Man that cracks me up.

Then tonight I was giving her a bath and we sang, "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair," about 20 times at her request.  I need to learn more of the words.

Finally, tonight I leaned in the doorway as Bryan read Jill her bed time story.  Jill pointed at the girl in the picture and said, "She's sad.  I think she needs her mommy."  I am so glad that I can (usually) help her when she is sad.  What a sweetheart.

She's right. The economy is terrible, she probably can't get a job!

It's true. She doesn't really have any marketable skills. Dancing, singing, and counting are strengths, but I'd bettr get her familiar with Microsoft Office this week.
